Remote monitoring is a powerful tool in healthcare, but both patients and providers hesitate to embrace it. A study in the District of Columbia explored barriers faced by patients and providers in adopting remote monitoring technologies. Patients with diabetes or hypertension used various monitoring devices, while providers engaged in chronic disease management. Interestingly, patients perceived barriers differently from providers. System-level obstacles also limited provider use of remote monitoring. To bridge this gap, a conceptual model identifies inputs and barriers experienced by patients. By understanding these dynamics, we can enhance the adoption of remote monitoring and advance precision healthcare. 🚀📊🤖
